It's that time of year again where the catwalks and
magazines, amaze us with this seasons trends. Key trends this season have been
print clashing, pastels, white and lace, tribal prints and Sport Luxe. Now some
of these trends are very cool, but I seem to be a little uninspired by some of
them as they seem a bit safe. I am a girl who likes to experiment with my
trends,so I have taken aspects of theses new trends and created my own hybrid
looks, which are affordable.
AZTEC,FLORAL AND BOLD COLOURS=PRINT CLASHING
OUTFIT 1:
BLAZER-PRIMARK
AZTEC TOP-H&M
FLORAL TULIP SKIRT-ZARA
MUSTARD BELT-DOROTHY PERKINS
LILAC WEDGES-NEW LOOK
Many people tend to shy away from one printed piece, but a
whole outfit based on contrasting prints is a no go area for the faint hearted.
It really isn't that scary once you know how to mix contrasting patterns.I
always choose prints that share similar colours, the aztec top and floral skirt
both have blues, pinks, reds and a bit of black making it easier to pair together. Also
as the the aztec top has a white background, which also helps. Usually I aim to
stick to two printed pieces, and use plain coloured accent pieces, such as the
blazer, belt and wedges. But if you are brave enough, to pair more than one
piece and make it work, then go ahead... this trend is about having fun after
all.
OUTFIT 2:
BLAZER-PRIMARK
BLOUSE-H&M
BOW TIE-LITTLE ME
PINK JEANS-ASOS
LILAC WEDGES-NEW LOOK
Whenever I see the pastel trend, it is always shown to be
ultra feminine. I have never really seen
this trend edged up, so I decided to combine my favourite trend from A/W '11,
the masculine trend and revive it for S/S '12.
TRIBAL ARM SWAG AND FEMININE PASTELS
OUTFIT 3:
BLAZER-PRIMARK
BLOUSE-PRIMARK
BRACELETS-GHANA
PINK JEANS-ASOS
LILAC WEDGES-NEW LOOK
With this look, I have again chosen the pastel trend but
made it more feminine.By just removing the blazer, bowtie and changing my blouse
to a pussy blouse, I have gone from a gentleman to a lady. I decided to pair
this outfit with one of my favourite trends this season, tribal! The bracelets
add a bit more interest to the traditional girly pastel trend, don't you think?
So how will you be rocking these seasons trends? will you be
staying safe or experimenting a bit?
