Since the tender age of 11, I have always enjoyed a good game of Black Jack. Now let me assure you, I am no gambler but I do like to win, a lot. So when I was invited #bgomeetup, which was a casino themed event. I just had to say yes. Now I didn’t win millions of pounds, if I did I would’ve quit my job, booked a one way ticket to Mauritius, and be writing this post on a white sandy beach with a cocktail in my hand! But the whole purpose of the #bgoevent was to meet lovely bloggers, raise money for WWF and also enjoy the mini casino games!

Let me just tell you that the event was sick! I learnt how to play roulette and improved my blackjack skills. I have to admit that I was slightly confident in my gambling skills! Maybe it was the glasses of prosecco which led to my new found confidence, but boy I was doing well. Until I got  I got cocky and lost all of my fake money. But it is not the winning that counts, it is the taking part (this is what I tell myself, so that I my bruised ego can heal, lol).

But most importantly, I got to mingle with my blogger buddies such as Joelle, Charlotte (who I also met at the Kalediscope event) ,Bei, Charlotte's sister from Beifit and Naomi , among other new bloggers. We giggled, chatted about blogger and non-blogger stuff and ate alot of Domino pizza!

I really enjoyed this event, and I thank Joes Blogs for inviting me.

Oh, food,
Wonderful food,
 Marvelous food
Glorious food!

I love food. I love everything about it, so when I was asked to review Tortilla, which is a burrito chain; I took about 3 secs before I accepted. Also I thought it was the perfect time to spend time with the older sis, as we needed sister time! We ventured to the Hammersmith branch,in West London a couple of weeks ago, and we both ordered a burrito with the full works! I had shredded beef, mixed veg, sauce and loads of cheese, whilst my sis had the same only with chicken. To complete my meal, I had a side of tortilla chips and lemonade. Now looking at this burrito, it may look filling, and it is! But I was able to tackle it. Word of advice, slice the burrito in two and then eat it with your hands! It makes it more easier. I was trying to be a lady and use a knife and fork and it became a little messy! All in all the food was tasty and the staff were friendly. But most of all I got to spend quality time with the older sis. Are you a food lover like me? How do you feel about Mexican food?

Lovely people I have been a busy lady, you may have seen from my instagram that I have been out and about at different events, but I haven't put fingers to keyboard and updated you on the blog. Busyness and other issues in my life, have resulted in lack of updates on ze blog.

Anyway, during my slight absence I have attended  events from Joe Blogs Network. The first being a photography event hosted by simply health and taught by award winning photographer Paul Hames. Now obviously as a blogger I love photography, but prior to blogging I always loved snapping pics, it just always seemed natural especially as I am a artistic gal. I really wanted to improve my knowledge of photography, and venture out of the automatic settings on my Samsung DV300f. So I hopped on a train to King's Cross, with my sister's Pentax DSLR wrapped round my neck.

Paul was a great teacher, patient and explained things very well. We first learnt about how to capture the perfect smile and the key functions of the DSLR to improve my photography. Secondly, we took our skills on the streets of King's Cross and took pictures of the KERB food market.

All in all, I had a great time!I am no Rankin yet, but I am more conscious of key aspects to improve my skills. Thank you Simply Health, Joe's Bloggers and Paul Hames!
