Another fashion week has passed, and we can now stop obsessing over the coveted trade show, that sends the world in a frenzy every February and September. I have been attending London Fashion Week for the last for the last four seasons! As a fashion week veteran, I have been lucky enough to have been invited by some of my favourite brands.
Last year, I was invited by The Bodyshop. This year I was invited by the guys over at Sunglass Hut, who let me attend the brilliant Oliver Spencer show, with my girl Tasha. As well as gifting me some pretty nifty Ray Bans. I started the week, by attending the Kurt Geiger gifting lounge, where we got to pick one pair of shoes. Me and Kurt Geiger have had a pretty awesome year, firstly I took part in their #kgrunswild campaign and also featured on their website. I opted for the mirrored heeled boot and wore it with a casual denim outfit and my oh so popular Bomber jacket.
Tasha and I spent our first day of London Fashion Week, literally chilling in the Lookfantastic lounge. Being pampered to the max. I am talking great food, pedicures, and vibes. I actually managed to make it to one show, which was menswear brand Oliver Spencer. It felt good being relatively close! we were third-rowing (trust me this term will catch on). This was the first time a menswear brand had solely shown at Fashion Week.
I was super excited as it makes a change from the shows I had been to before. As the models started to walk, the venue was filled with the roar of African drumming! That made me turn up; respectfully of course with Tasha, as we are both of Ghanaian heritage. The atmosphere was live, the collection was strong featuring great tailoring, warm knits and an Autumn colour palette. I am talking about navy, mustard, beige's which brought the collection to life.
All in all, I enjoyed my time at London Fashion Week this season, even if it was brief. What do you think of the collection?
