Let's talk about love. I feel somewhat fraudulent talking about this subject, cause I have honestly never been head over heels in love. True story bro! But as it's Valentine's day, and many of my other single friends dread what they like to call SAD ( single awareness day). I'm here to say that you shouldn't worry about what other people think, or feel about a day which is a marketing ploy. It is.. I'm not being shady. Why must there be one day in the year where you recognise how special someone is?
Honestly, let's be real about it. Yes it's nice to acknowledge that you care for someone, but why can't you do it everyday?
One thing my mother always told me, is that you must love yourself before you can love someone else. How can you give your all to someone, if you don't know your worth? Know your worth first and give your time second.
Your mum is totally right, that's so important! I've rushed into relationships before where I inevitably end up unhappy because I don't know myself well enough to know what I want or need

She is a wise one, thanks for the feedback :)
DeleteI totally agree with you! After I broke up with a long term boyfriend I rushed right into another relationship when I hadn't even given myself the chance to work on me - it's super important to love yourself first!

Love it
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely post! It's so true that it's important to have time to yourself to work out what it is you want and what you're looking for. That's what I'm doing now and it's great x
