LIFESTYLE| IT'S OK TO TRUST THE MAGIC OF NEW BEGINNINGS

“No, this is not the beginning of a new chapter in my life; this is the beginning of a new book! That first book is already closed, ended, and tossed into the seas; this new book is newly opened, has just begun! Look, it is the first page! And it is a beautiful one!”
― C. JoyBell C.

In today's it's ok series, I talk about how it is ok to trust the magic of new beginnings. For a long time, I was in a rut! I craved more and just needed a change. I have been working really hard on my personal and professional life, that I guessed I was waiting  to end the chapter of my life and move onto the next  so quickly, that I didn't appreciate what I had. I was in life limbo.. numb to the senses, numb to the lights around me!  That I was unable to pursue anything new.  I  had to stand still for a split second, breathe in and out and really appreciate my surroundings.

That is what I did, I took a break. I took a break from socializing, I took a break from blogging, I took a break for trying to be superwoman and accepting life as it was and trying to achieve everything in a split second. With this, I realized what I had a loving and supportive family, kick- ass friends and an amazing career and opportunities, that I have come my way. Once I realized this, a smile came upon my face and I felt at peace with this chapter of my life that I felt ready to embark on pastures new.

It's quite clear from my Twitter & Instagram, that the last 6 months have been hella busy and hella rewarding. First things first, I relaunched the FBL Bloggers site and have a group of 8 lovely editors. We've been busy at events and writing kick ass content. Not to mention, the amount of opportunities and projects I have for the network. One key one is I launched our exclusive watch line for FBL Bloggers.

Personally, life has been good. I turned 26 on the 7th of November and turned up royally, the Saturday before. If you weren't there, you missed out, legit. My squad are still talking about it :P. But in all seriousness, I am excited to see how my 26th year will pan out. I am ending the chapter with my current job, and moving to head up the social media for a pretty sick Travel Company in December. It'll be a challenging role, but with all new beginnings it is both challenging and exciting. As a girl who is semi-fearless, I welcome the challenge. So just a heads up, LWIG will soon be including more travel topics and I cannot wait.

I think most importantly, I feel happier in myself. I feel genuinely happy and ready to see what life has in store. To be honest, I haven't felt this happy in the last year and a half. Now, this year has been frustrating.. however I think with my amazing support from my friends and family, coupled with my perseverance and self belief have led me to this place. For that, I am grateful. I know life will not always be rainbows and sunshine, but just knowing this and taking life as it comes will keep me going.

All in all, you shouldn't be afraid to venture to something new. However, before you start a new chapter, make sure you appreciate what you have done in the last one. Appreciate everything, learn from your mistakes , champion  your successes. For God's sake, don't be hard on yourself! We are always evolving, and nobody is perfect. Even me! So how about you? Are you about to embark on something new?

  8. I love your positivity and hope some of it rubs off on me - I'm such a chicken - I should take your advice to try new things, appreciate and learn from experiences, and avoid being so hard on myself. I love your #FBLchat on Twitter - very popular, and with good reason! Love your Tweets. Thank you for following me on Twitter (@Panty_Buns) !
P.S.: I love the peach pink colour, styling and black lace trim of the dress you wore in the outfit photos above. You look beautiful!
