FASHION | APRICOT ZIG ZAG SWING DRESS

SO, I have been majorly loving the 70's trend! I like to think of myself as a little chocolate hippy, basking in the wind in my hippy clothes. I feel more aloof in the flowy fabrics and silhouettes. Keeping to my recent love for this fab trend, I was sent this gorgeous cream zig zag  shoulder dress from Apricot. Now when I saw it, I instantly fell in love, it is a little different than anything in my wardrobe at the moment, and I am scared to wear white, as I am messy. But, something in my fashion soul screamed, COME HERE BOO. Then just like that, it was in my clutches ready to be styled up...sigh #reallove.

Now came a conundrum, what did I wear with this to make it pop? to make it sing in the sunshine and the infrequent UK summer? Scratching my weave for answers, the one person who knows me to my core,  lightly tapped my shoulder and presented the solution. My mum basically gave me her new 70s heels from ASOS! As a person who was a teenager in the 70's, I instantly listened to everything she had to say when it came to styling this outfit. Just like that, I looked like I was from the 70's.

One thing I love about this dress is the subtle detailing, zig zag pattern dominates the dress. Which makes it more interesting as the colour is basic! I love the cut out shoulder detailing, as that adds a pop of sexy, and we all love a bit of S.E.X.Y don't we girls? Then the fringe detailing on the arms finished the dress beautifully.

I am a sucker for a short dress, I don't usually do longer dresses unless they are fitted maxi or midi dresses. The length of this dress is ice without being too short, if you know what I mean. It was flowy without being too flowy and just felt great on. Now when it cam to accessorizing this dress, I kept it simple with my New Look, double necklace. Although

the dress was simple in colour, there was so much detailing that I just didn't want to over power it. Makeup wise, I kept it simple statement lip, sparkly neutral smokey eye. Hope I nailed it, I am trying to really get into this whole make up thing :). Anyway, I am totally loving this outfit and will enjoy exploring more of this trend.
