FASHION | DEBENHAMS SPRING TRENDS- RIVIERA

Do you know what spring time means to me? Spring time means a sense of transition, a moment of change as the weather gets warmer. The emerald green grass rises and stands tall in uniform. Flowers, which were once hidden, push through the the soil and bask in the sun in full bloom. Yes, Spring time really is a time for change in fashion, and recently in my personal life. Let's start with fashion, as we put away our warmer clothing, in favour of lighter and brighter garments, there is a sense of freedom a sense of playfulness that only this time brings. I worked with the lovely team at Debenhams to showcase their Spring collection. I chose the trend of Riviera, due to my love of stripes, monochrome and denim, However, being the edgy girl that I am, my take on this trend, wouldn't be complete without my trusty bomber and chunky shoe boots.

Earlier this year, I made a fashion resolution to showcase more skin, but in a more feminine way. The way I do that is mainly with off the shoulder tops, and since it is warmer now I get to do this more often. It is often quite strange, what  a little bit of skin can do. I dunno even though it isn't showing anything really, It makes me feel kinda sexy, and  I like that feeling. You all know I am a lover of denim, due to my numerous posts on jeans.

I have added a Hip Hop twist to this trend and it is definitely me. Simply, pretty and edgy. Now let's get into the transitions that I have talked about on my snapchat and instagram. In the last year, I have been working on a project to take my personal life and professional life to the  next stage. All of you have been asking me about it and it is basically linked to FBL Bloggers and my blog. I want to make a stance and really take my digital marketing skills to the next level. For such a long time, I had so much to offer, helping others which I loved. However, I had lost myself in a way you know! I am a creator, a strategist and innovator and the project I have been working on is only step one of what I want to achieve. I am sorry I am being cryptic, but there is still work to be done and I am a perfectionist. Just know that I presented step 1 of my project and I passed, but there is still more to do. I am creature of action, which means when I have done what I am happy with, I will share more.

So as I said, Spring time has led to transitions not only in my wardrobe, but in my life. Let's hope these transitions allow me to push through the soil, and let me ambitions and dreams blossom in the sun. Are you going through transitions at the moment?

LIFESTYLE| IT'S OK TO NOT HAVE YOUR SHIT TOGETHER.. RIGHT NOW

Every now and again, I like to write it's OK series. A series of life lessons I've learnt in my short 25 years of life. Similarly to my it's OK to feel lost post, I've recently been feeling like I'm on autopilot! You know what I mean? I'm certainly much happier than I was last year. I feel like the plans for FBL Bloggers is on it's way. However, being the reluctant perfectionist that I am, I've recently been asking myself and others. .what do I or you want?
IT'S OK TO NOT HAVE YOUR SHIT TOGETHER
IT'S OK TO NOT HAVE YOUR SHIT TOGETHER

Now at first glance this is an easy question. But on close examination, this question is more complicated than what I first thought. You know why? It leaves you exposed! You question everything your doing, what you want, what you don't want and even who you are! It's a bit of a loaded question now, if you think about it. A fearful one, which may reveal that you don't have your shit together as you thought. Maybe you desire more,  than what you have and you don't know how to achieve it.
So what do you do? Do you bury your feelings? Get on with the monotonous feelings of everyday life, when you know you want more? Or do you look fear in the eye and take what you want? I'm the type of person who does what scares her. I take calculated risks. I follow my instincts, feel everything and go with what I know to be right for me.
IT'S OK TO NOT HAVE YOUR SHIT TOGETHER
IT'S OK TO NOT HAVE YOUR SHIT TOGETHER
With all this being said, I was worried that I didn't have my shit together. Now hear me out, I seemingly have my shit together, I'm working on FBL Bloggers and giving back to the blogging community; Which is all great. ..but what about me? I've given a lot back to the community over the 5 years,  so others could propel and I'm happy. But as a result, my blog has taken a back seat, and it hasn't reached its potential that it could have done in the 5 years I've been blogging.
Which has made me look to other options in which I can achieve that. One of the reasons I didn't really celebrate my 5 year blog anniversary, was because I wasn't 100% happy with what I had achieved. I wanted more, and I have only achieved 60% of my blog goals.  But in hindsight I've achieved alot. .so I'll celebrate this later.

IT'S OK TO NOT HAVE YOUR SHIT TOGETHER

Let's step away from all things blogging. Blogging has changed my life and all that, I've had amazing opportunities but it's been my whole life,   which is a bit much now. In all honesty, I'm kinda bored with it. I'll never stop it, but I focus much more on my personal life, hence why you see me at select events or do select posts.
If we talk about having our shit together when it comes to personal life, I ain't got it all figured out. But I'm enjoying figuring it out. As a confident and proud girl, I was slightly affected by not being in a relationship. Let me tell you it has hit my pride to admit that. Everyone around me, is in a committed relationship or on the road to marriage.
Even though getting married isn't what I want or need right now, the affection of a significant other, truthfully is what I want. As a strong and ambitious girl, I  tend to scare dudes off. At the back of my mind, I always thought I'd be a successful woman without a family. .without someone to love me. That is one of my biggest fears. .to not have a family in the future. However, I will not compromise my timing, my beliefs and everything else to have someone prematurely to soothe a fear. My Grandpa said never follow your friends, everything you need will come to you in time. I have to trust in the old man's wisdom.
I've now placed my focus on spending time on me. Developing sound relationships with people who empower me, who are real. I'm focused on exploring my other hobbies, music production (thanks Katie), dancing , travelling, and having a happy life.

IT'S OK TO NOT HAVE YOUR SHIT TOGETHER
I don't have my shit together, I don't think I ever really will.. at times I feel lost it kinda hurts. I question everything, and wonder why things I want, haven't come to fruition as I've done all the 'right things'. However, living day by day and thinking that good things are gonna happen..makes me feel excited about the uncertainty of life. I mean how fun would it be to know how life is gonna turn out?  So if you're like me and haven't got your shit together as you'd like, firstly ask what do you want, then make it happen. It may not work out, but it'll feel hella good fulfilling something with purpose. That's the most important thing right?  Doing things that matter to you!

BEAUTY | IRRESITIBLE ME SAPPHIRE 8 IN 1 CURLER REVIEW PART 2

So I am loving all things beauty, says the former fashion blogger. Well I obviously blog about fashion and lifestyle, so I am officially an FBL Blogger, pretty convenient since I started FBL Bloggers. A while ago, I was sent the Irresistible me Sapphire 8 in 1 curler. I decided to do an un boxing post first, and then spend time testing the wand, as I wanted to do an unbiased review. If you want to hear about my un-boxing  of the wand, click here.

The Basics and how I achieved my look:
As many of you know, I wear weave and I talk about it a lot via my Twitter, and showcase my changing styles on my Instagram account. So obviously, this tool will work well on your natural hair, and it works for human hair weave, too. I thought it was important to highlight this, as many of my girls out there that love a weave, don't want it burning. I used the third barrel in the picture, to blend my closure with the rest of my weave. I have a Virgin Peruvian body wave closure, whilst the rest of my bundles are human hair (master mix synthetic and human hair) curly weave. I couldn't find the right closure to buy, so just used my body wave one and curled it to blend.

Now this product is based in the USA, so I had to use this plug converter to get it to work. The kit come with gloves, which you can use to protect your hand, but as I am a G and a little heat doesn't faze me, I didn't use it, to achieve the above look, I took small sections of my hair and curled the hair towards me, held for  a few mins and then let it go. The whole thing took about 10 mins as I was only doing my closure.

Pros:

I really like this curler, it comes with a variety of barrels, so you can achieve a variety of looks. I only used the thin one in the pic, and I am yet to use the others, but I am sure it will help me achieve my desired look. I love that the curler heats up quickly too, which is good cause I am impatient!

Cons:
I wish that the device was sold in the UK. Finding an adapter was ok, but the plug pops out every now and again.

Overall, it was well worth the money, and I highly recommend you purchasing it. Thanks to the guys over at Irreisitible me for sending this through. I am going to be wearing natural hair clip in's this Spring/Summer as I am so done with weave atm. Let me know  if you want me to do hair reviews too.
