LIFESTYLE | IT'S OK TO KNOW YOUR WORTH

TURTLE NECK OOTD

One thing I have been really been thinking about is my self worth. So I ask you, do you ever feel that you sell yourself short? Do you allow people to take advantage of you, let opportunities slip by, because you don't think you are worthy or just don't feel that great about yourself? Now it's ok to feel down in the dumps about yourself. I say this, because this is a signal to realize what is making you feel that way, and what you can do to really understand your worth and feel better about yourself. Now, why am I writing this post? Well if you know me, you know that I am a confident self assured girl, who knows what she wants and takes what she wants. That being said, I am not immune to my days where I just don't know my self worth.

Being honest and everything,  I have not known my worth, especially with being an entrepreneur.  I have allowed people and opportunities to go by; all because I didn't think I was good enough. You see the problem there, I didn't think I was good enough. What was my thought process behind this? Simply comparison, the thought that someone was better than me. In addition, I have felt that sometimes, I let people take advantage of me. Now, I am not a walk over, I'll tell you where to go when you disrespect me. But, I have the curse of being too "nice", you know what I mean?

Now coming to my personal life there were times where there were people who weren't good for me, and I'm sure you've all been there.
People who suck the joy out of you, aren't really down for you. But you keep them around out of habit and because you don't want to be "difficult". What this leads to is alot of unecessary pain and aggro.

This feeling has been plaguing me for a while. It was difficult to sum up into words how I was feeling, until I came across this extract from J.Anderson. Quite simply this extract emphasises the power of self worth. It makes me feel that I matter,  I'm wanted and I deserve to be treated with respect in every aspect of my life. This goes to you too! When you recognise your worth people will too, and thus act accordingly.

J RAYMOND

I think I'm doing OK with the whole self worth thing. I stand for what I want and work hard to get it. I mean there are times when we can ask be meek and mild,  and there isn't anything necessarily wrong with that. .I guess what I'm trying to say is don't be afraid to stand up for what you believe in. It's a process, but one with a generous reward, your respect.

LIFESTYLE| GOOD THINGS ARE GONNA HAPPEN

BOOHOO PATTERN SWING DRESS

Sometimes we feel shitty. Sometimes we feel like the world is coming to an end, that we've had so many knock backs that things can't get any better. We get into a spiral of negativity that we just don't know what we can do to make ourselves feel better. This feeling is toxic,  this feeling doesn't allow you to do what you want to do, or achieve what your capable of.

I can say this whole heartedly, because like any normal person I've felt this way. No matter how positive I am 90% of the time.  There is that 10% when I just want to give up. Do you feel this way, sometimes?

However, you can't allow yourself to give up because every cloud has a silver lining. Cheesy I know, but it's true. When things get bad, remember you have the control to make things better! You are not powerless, you have control. So take the steering wheel to your life and drive to your destiny.

GOOD THINGS ARE GONNA HAPPEN

How do you take control?

1. Fill your mind with positivity:
I'm an advocate for positive quotes, which is why my instagram is full of them. I'm not just a graphic design and calligraphy fiend (although I can appreciate a good design). But reading positive words or having something written down, to emphasise how your feeling is so powerful and healing. I am such an advocate that I bought the book of mindfulness, which is a book of positive quotes.
2. Remove toxic things and people from your life.
You'd be surprised how eating clean can improve your mood. This is a venture I haven't personally gone to yet. But according to my girl Martina, it's done wonders to her physical and physiological being. I can tell to, she seems uber positive.
I'm a bit of an expert in this, I'm sad to say. Removing people who are toxic and don't have your best interest at heart can be hard, but I promise you that your soul will be healed. Those people were never for you, so why should they ride with you? Cancel them out, and be free.
3. Go for what you want:
I hovered over this subject when I spoke about being unhappy, taking a risk and feeling lost. When you go for what you want, your mind is clear. I can't tell you how much happier I am now that I've done that. Now depending on what you want, it's not going to come easy for some of you. The road to success is a complex and often confusing journey. However, the journey itself is fulfilling and rewarding.
Always remember, that good things are gonna happen, only if you take control.  How do you take control?

LIFESTYLE| LET'S TALK ABOUT LOVE

VALENTINE'S DAYlights of soho

Let's talk about love. I feel somewhat fraudulent talking about this subject, cause I have honestly never been head over heels in love. True story bro! But as it's Valentine's day, and many of my other single friends dread what they  like to call SAD ( single awareness day). I'm here to say that you shouldn't worry about what other people think, or feel about a day which is a marketing ploy. It is.. I'm not being shady. Why must there be one day in the year where you recognise how special someone is?
Honestly, let's be real about it. Yes it's nice to acknowledge that you  care for someone,  but why can't you do it everyday?

One thing my mother always told me, is that  you must love yourself before you can love someone else. How can you give your all to someone, if you don't know your worth? Know your worth first and give your time second.
So before you go crazy on Tinder and swipe frantically to find your Valentine's bae, remember to love YOU first, because if you can't do that, how can you expect anyone else to?

LIFESTYLE| SENNHEISER MOMENTUM IN-EAR HEADPHONES REVIEW

Sennheiser Momentum In-Ear Headphones review

I'd like to say that I'm a music enthusiast. If you really knew me, you'd know that other than fashion and pancakes, the other thing that sets my heart on fire is music! I'm so passionate about music to the point that if your my friend. I regularly send you tunes on whatsapp via my soundcloud. If I do this.. it's because I think your a G and need to hear the tunes I have secured for you. Thank me later...lol.
Anyway, back to the point of the post. Oh yeah, so as a result for my insatiable love for music, I was sent these sick headphones from Sennheiser, to test out. Now as a  music lover,  a great pair of headphones were something I'd only dream of. I had dabbled with the Sennheiser range before and I didn't have the best experience. Mainly as I went for the lower end model! But I was hopeful to try this!

The Sennheiser momentum in-ear earphones, retails for £89.99.  Normally, I  tend to venture to the lower end of the scale, which is why I have a graveyard of blown earphones in my drawer.
With it stainless steel design, and noise isolating features, I can say that I was pretty impressed with these babies. At first, I was a little taken  back by what I thought was a lack of  bass. I would've liked it if it went a bit harder. However, after rocking these everyday for a month, I am starting to  prefer the overall even sound that the headphones produce. That's because it produces a frequency of 15-22,000 Hz with a sound pressure level of 118 dB.

Design wise, I liked the standard black and chrome look. It looked very slick, but I wouldn't say no to a coloured pair. If I'm not mistaken , these headphones come in a red colour, so maybe I'll invest when these headphones make an exit.

Sitting comfortably in my ears, the earphones didn't fall out easily and felt "snug". They definitely were noise blocking when put to the loudest volume on my iPod Nano. I personally like to be in my own world when I listen to music. I'd be the one dancing in my chair on the train.
Overall, I was impressed with these and it pays to pay a little more for earphones. Thank you for restoring my faith Sennheiser! Oh did I mention that these have a 2 year warranty? So sick.
