FASHION | HIPPY LIFE FEATURING THE H&M BLUE PATTERNED PLAYSUIT AND SELECT FASHION BLACK KIMONO

Sometimes I think I was born in the wrong era. I think I may have been a hippy in my previous life, you know basking in nature and stuff, very anti-establishment. However, if I really think about it, the #hippylife wouldn't really be for me, I only like the style. Weeks without bathing so I could be one with nature,  as well as dancing in a filed of flowers, just ain't for me kids. That being said, I have taken inspiration from this movement recently! Especially since I found this cute playsuit from H&M. I paired it with my Select fashion, black kimono which I have been dying to wear and finished the outfit with my New Look nude heels.

I really tried to go all out with this look, and I incorporated the range of colours from the playsuit into my make up. I have no idea what I used peeps, it was literally everything. But I am certain the eye make up included Sleek storm palette and my Naked 2 palette dupe, which I reviewed here. Foundation is Sleek also and lips would be from Milani with a red lip liner,so my lips didn't look crazy. I also learnt how to contour, so now I feel like my life is complete. colourful eye make up for black women using sleek make upH&M blue paisley print playsuit

As per usual, my outfit picture are never complete without a fountain included. It is almost blasphemy not to include one. Especially with this outfit choice, it makes me feel "one with nature". Also the wind came  at the right time, literally I felt like Pocahontas when she blasted out "colours of the wind". My weave was flowing girl, FLOWING in the wind. I was feeling myself a little bit.

All in all, I had fun with this outfit, I think I will enjoy being a hippy some of the time!

FASHION | THE GIRL IN THE HALTERNECK ORANGE DRESS FEATURING BOOHOO AND JEWEL STREET

This weather has been all types of amazing hasn't it? I am such a Summer baby, despite being born in the Winter! Everything about this season brings me all types of joy, I think it is mainly because of the abundance of Vitamin D or the general good vibes. Anyway the bright weather makes me wanna dress, well bright. As this is the case, I took the opportunity to rock my orange halter-neck dress, that I got from the Boohoo outlet on Ebay. I paired these with my nude heels from H&M and also my new Fiorelli necklace, that the guys over at Jewelstreet gifted me.

This is a pretty mature look for me don't  you think? I have been dying to bust out this dress since I bought it last year. I really enjoy the brightness of the dress the cut and the shape gives  an understated sexy look.

I think I am really liking the whole heeled look, as I approach the big 2-5 I am gradually starting to dress more like a young lady. Not to worry, the edgy Jess will never go away though. orange halterneck dress from boohoo

Usually with these types of dresses, I find pairing jewellery a bit of a challenge. However, I find that the statement necklace added to the outfit well. Especially, the blue colour with the orange really worked well!

As Summer continues, I am going to continue with the brights and you'll be definitely see me rocking more heels. How does the Summer affect you?

BEAUTY | THREE UK AND HTC ONE M9 #M9MANI EVENT

I'll admit it, I am addicted to my phone! I check Facebook, Twitter and Instagram ALOT! Although, I don't showcase it on the blog, I am a bit of a geek when it comes to gadgets, and especially smartphones. I love to research the latest phone on the market, the latest features etc. So when Three UK invited me to an exclusive event to test out the HTC One M9 and have a pampering manicure, I was like hell to the yeah. Now as a Three customer, I was super excited to go. I have been having a troublesome relationship with my Samsung S4. Honestly, if my S4 and I were in a real relationship, our relationship status on Facebook would be "it's complicated". So going to test out the HTC One M9 was a bit of a godsend.

MW NAILS IN OLD SPITAFIELDS MARKET

Three and HTC, invited 2 other bloggers (Fiona and Lynda) and myself to the MW nail salon in Old Spitafields market. This salon was one of a kind, as it was decorated as an airline! Whilst we were having our nails done, we had the opportunity to play with the HTC One M9 phone.

I was impressed with the design and the features, the phone had a premium look to it. Also the hero features of the phone was the selfie and photobooth function. Deffo the phone for instagram addicts like myself! I had soo much fun taking selfies, and playing with the photobooth feature with the girls. It was like we were actually in one of those themed photobooths! The fact that you can imitate this with the phone is very appealing.

As well as playing with the HTC One M9 phone and getting pampered; It was a relaxing time to eat canapés, gauge on the yummy cakes and drink the taste prosecco!

FASHION | INTRODUCING LYST

Like most bloggers, I love to create wish list or two. I would like to provide myself on having a keen eye for fashion, spotting key items that people haven't seen before. I do what most people do, I go to my favourite fashion retailers website, browse the latest collection and save items I covet to buy for another time. Only, I forget about them and when I do check back on them, they are out of stock. Lyst is a site which solves this problem; the site  which allows you to create your own personalised shopping experience, by featuring items that you love. Whilst creating these wish lists you are also notified as to when your items are go on sale. You can also create wish lists and share them with your followers, which is pretty sick.

Lyst is really simple to use, all you have to do is create an account. Once your account is activated, you will be shown a screen of series of high-end and high street designers, and asked if you like these brands. This is to ensure that your shopping experience is personal and accurate. You don't have to sit through the list of brands that the site suggests, you can press continue and start making your own lyst straight away.

To make your lyst, you can choose from a wide range of categories. Since, LWIG is geared towards women's fashion, I decided to focus on this. You can make different lysts for different things, such as a party, wedding etc. Think of it as a shop able Pinterest! To select items you want, simply click on the picture and select which lyst you would want your item to go onto. You can then view all items in your preferred wish lyst, and shop them!

I decided to create a Summer wish list featuring a mix of my favourite brands. The inspiration behind my looks were soft tailoring and print. I really want to embark on more soft tailoring, and stick to my feminine meets edgy style. Although I don't show it enough, I really love fashion trainers and have gathered quite a collection. In my wish lyst , I opted for soft pastel colour and prints in my trainers. You can click here to see the items I chose in detail.

All in all, I think Lyst is pretty cool. It is user friendly, allows you to know when your item is out of stock, covers a variety of brands  and also has a nifty app (only available for iPhone at the moment), so you can use it on the go. However, as a blogger, I wish it would be great to create wishlist set for your blogs that you can import, like Polyvore does. What do you think of Lyst?

FASHION| GEORGE AT ASDA #WAYSTOWEAR

The sun is shining, the temperatures are finally on the rise, and going abroad is definitely on my mind. Unfortunately, I already went to Austin, Texas in February (vlog soon), so it looks like it will be a staycation in London for me this Summer. However, I still want to dress for the holidays and I for one know how difficult it is to pack for the holidays. As you end up taking loads of clothes you never wear. Let's face it, I would always prefer to take a little less, so I can have room to bring my souvenirs back! That being said, I was contacted by the lovely guys at George at ASDA to show you lot how to create a capsule wardrobe for your holidays. I was gifted with this gorgeous bardot dress, from George's dress collection. I was also gifted with a few other accessories, to show you how to create a capsule wardrobe using a few accessories.

NECKLACE, BELT, AND GLADIATOR BLOCK HEELS

Using a few accessories can make a world of difference to an outfit. I used a simple black belt from Primark, to cinch in the waist and add definition. I looped the belt to add interest to the outfit. My  gold statement Adinkra statement necklace, was a nice touch to the outfit. As the print was so intricate and so bold, the gladiator block heels were just the right shoe to pair the dress with and they are very versatile.

SUNGLASSES

It is amazing how something simple like a pair of sunglasses, can change an outfit completely! I am such a fan of tortoise shell and cat shape sunnies; that I admittedly own a few pairs. However, I don't own cat shaped sunnies, that are in a tortoise shell design. So, they are justified purchase right?  I think so!

BAGS

I am a bag fiend and this little blue tote bag, is perfect with the dress. I decided to go with a bay blue colour to add contrast and not over-power the outfit.

So hopefully, I have shown you how you can create different outfits with only a few items, hopefully you'll take inspiration and create your own capsule wardrobe for your holiday!

BEAUTY | BODYSHOP VIRGIN MOJITO EVENT #happyskin

I am no stranger to a Bodyshop event, and was recently invited to the launch of their new summer limited collection, the Virgin Mojito range. Now I love a good cocktail and lush skin care products; and the fact that The Bodyshop had combined two of my loves into an insane range, made my heart skip a beat. The event was held at the fabulous Westbury hotel, in Central London.

As soon as I entered, I was transported to a tropical paradise, along with goodies to trial out, yummy canapés to munch on, bloggers to mingle with  and of course Mojitos to drink.  Speaking of bloggers, I met Liv, Sophie and was reunited with FBL Bloggers event admin Mary. It was nice just to unwind and learn about the newest range.

DR TERRY BODYSHOP GLOBAL SKINCARE EXPERT We were soon, given a skin care talk by the Bodyshop's Global Skincare expert,  Dr Terry. Dr Terry wowed us on her talk about creating happy and healthy skin and achieving a glow with your skin. She also taught us how to achieve this and focused her talk on the recently launched Vitamin C range and of course an introduction to the Virgin Mojito range. I had a play around with the range and concluded  the Body splash was by far my favourite item to play with.
