LIFESTYLE| IT'S OK TO TAKE A RISK

Over the last couple of days, I have been trying to decide the best way to write this post. It is a post dear to my heart, one that I hope will help others in my situation. So I am going to be real with you, I am going to bear everything, and I hope you appreciate my honesty.

When I wrote the post about being unhappy, I was relieved for a few reasons:
 1. I finally came out to say how I was feeling and allowed myself to be vulnerable.
 2. I received lovely responses off-line and on-line.
 3. It gave me the courage to take the next step to feeling happy.

Now if you follow me on Twitter (shameless plug), you'll know that one of the things making me unhappy was my job, so I quit. The day I quit, I didn't know I was going to quit. However, it was getting to the point where I was so unhappy, I couldn't function at work. I would cry in the toilets alot of the time, had anxiety and felt suffocated. My friends were worried, I was worried, so I decided to change that and leave.

Now I don't want you to think I worked in an awful place, I actually worked in one of the best places in my career. The office was modern, my team were lovely including my bosses. There were great perks, and I met some amazing people, who I speak to daily. So it sounds amazing, and it was, but not for me.

The reason I quit, was because the passion I had burning inside me, had been dulled for too long. Over this last year, I have had amazing opportunities come my way. Some haven't worked out, some are in the process. However, the catalyst for these opportunities was blogging. When I lept into blogging 4 years ago, there was only naievety. I wanted a creative hobby to brighten my repetitive life.

Now 4 years down the line, this "hobby" has helped define who I am. I am more confident, I am more open, and I am more creative, but most of all I am fearless. This hobby awakened the  fearless woman inside me!

I knew I wanted to be a full time blogger, and take FBL Bloggers to the next level, because I wanted to give back to the blogger community. I wanted to have the autonomy to do what I wanted, when I wanted and because I loved it. So I chose what I love, a decision I will never regret.

Although, I quit my job about a month ago, nothing is easy. Since, I have quit I always have to be mindful of the one important aspect to living comfortably, which is money. This aspect is not so worrying as I still live at home and have savings. However, I am doing freelancing on the side to keep me afloat. I don't exactly like it, but it is a necessary means to an end.

FBL Bloggers is an exciting venture, a lonely and hard venture. I am running a sole business, and I have gone from a vibrant bubbly office, with the people I click with, to my home office. Sorting out business strategy, blog posts and all the necessities for business is difficult for me, especially as I'm an extrovert. There are days where I feel so down. However, I make sure I get out and  about and do weekly activities to keep me sane.

There is alot to do, and no doubt about it, this year will be difficult. But you know what? I am proud that I go for what I want, with everything in me. I don't stop because things maybe hard, I excell because they are difficult. In the end I will be better for it, I can feel it. Have you taken any risks lately?

FASHION| SPRING TIME FLING FEATURING SELECT FASHION FLORAL JUMPSUIT AND FLOPPY HAT

Hats and florals seem to be my "thing" at the moment, and you know what? I kinda like my new fashion revolution. The thing I love about jumpsuits is that they are so easy!  No need to worry about finding a top or trousers, the outfit is put together in one! The thing I don't like so much is that going for a wee is like doing a private show of the Full Monty, only you're behind a door where no-one can see you.... Okay, so that isn't the best analogy but you get what I mean, lol. Taking these things off isn't as easy as putting them on.  I just don't know why no-one has ever thought of putting a zipper at the back?

Design limitations aside, I really do love this jumpsuit from Select Fashion. It is soft, beautiful and shows just the right amount of cleavage for an understated sexy look.

Now, I could've paired these with strappy stilettos, but 1) I couldn't be bothered, to traipse around London in uncomfortable heels for the "blog" and 2) I wanted to showcase my Boohoo Sadie peep-toe boots, which I wore in the Queen of Roses post. Seriously, these are the most comfiest shoes ever and they are affordable at just £11!

I had to finish my look with a hat or some time of head gear. I dunno, my head just feels complete with one on. I first debuted my Select Fashion floppy hat, back in my tartan grunge shoot back in October and since then, it has been a staple to my outfits.

I am really loving the spring/summer fashion, how do you style yourself up during this season?

FASHION| QUEEN OF ROSES FEATURING H&M BLACK SHEER MAXI DRESS AND EBAY ROSE HEADBAND

I have always enjoyed pushing the boundaries when it comes to fashion, and I think as my life goes in a new direction, I enjoy pushing it even more. For me, fashion is an expression of who I am. As I embark on something new, something uncertain, I want my fashion to represent this. You see, I don't have a definitive style, I just like to experiment. One moment I will be extremely girly, the next edgy! It is all fun and games, a creative way to show the different dimensions of me.
H&M SHEER BLACK MAXI DRESS
A couple of years ago, I would've hated anything floral, anything long and definitely anything sheer. Oh how things have changed, I chose this  H&M sheer black maxi dress because it was different. It was so un-jess like, that I had to have it. As always, I had to add the edge, so out came my new peep-toe lace up ankle boots from Boohoo.
To finish the look up, I had to go for the rose headband. Now, in all honesty I always thought the whole floral headband look was silly. Until, I saw Dolce and Gabbana latest collection for fashion week, D&G Golden Heart. I was swiftly converted and loved rocking my new headband, which was a bargain from Ebay. Do you ever push the boundaries with fashion?

BEAUTY| REVIVING MY COMPLEXION WITH SK:N CLINICS

I have never had the greatest skin. It isn't terrible by no means, but it wasn't the best, and behind the make up and the instagram filters (man those are a god send!), underlies a complexion that definitely needs a pick me up! Now as I am at the ripe old age of 24, it is really time that I start to take care of my skin. Cameron Diaz, once said that when you are in your 20s  this your prime to take care of your body and skin, as it will be super difficult to when you are older. To be honest with you, Ms Diaz, makes a lot of sense.
SK:N CLINCS REVIVING COMPLEXION
I create the classic make up sins. I fall asleep with my make up on sometimes, I don't wash my make up brushes enough, and I forget to ex-foliate! But even though I am a bit lax on the skin care routine, I always wash and moisturise. However, I think a little extra care in my routine would keep the spots and rashes at bay. So I can have radiant skin for the spring/summer weather.
SK:N CLINCS REVIVING COMPLEXION
So it was amazing when the guys over at SK:N clinics contacted me about their different treatments, as I was researching more intensive ways to brighten my complexion, as I am not great with the whole wash,ex-foliate and moisturise routine. After a little nosey at their treatments, I decided that a skin peel would be something that would be perfect to rejuvenate my skin. Now you maybe thinking, that a skin peel sounds a bit scary, but I would opt for the less intensive one, which is the mild gylcolic peel, as I am still pretty young. Also, from my research, skin peels only require the dermatologist to rub a non-toxic solution to remove the top layer of dead skin, so you would have a fresher complexion.

SK:N CLINCS REVIVING COMPLEXION

Now from £80 it is an investment, one I would have to think about carefully. However, Sk:N clinics offer free consultations, with top notch dermatologists, who have been in the business for over 20 years, so it is safe to say I would be in safe hands. I'll keep you posted on my decision. Does your skin need a pick me up?

I worked with SK:N clincs and received payment for this post.

FASHION| FASHION UNION GREEN TARTAN COAT AND RIVER ISLAND MONCHROME TOTE BAG

Since it is officially "spring" it is time to hang up the heavy winter coats, in favour of light-weight knits. This would be the case if  I didn't live in the UK, where the bi-polar weather can go from hot to cold in like a nano-second. I may have exaggerated a bit, with the whole nan-second reference. However, what I am trying to emphasise, is that we can't put away our winter coats just yet. To be honest with you, I ain't mad, as I wouldn't be able to rock my seriously sick green tartan coat.
GREEN TARTAN COAT

During Black Friday, my purchasing finger got a little happy, and I decided to fulfil my fashion dream and acquire a green tartan coat from New Look. I also bought a monochrome coat and wore it in this post. Styling wise, I decided to keep this outfit quite simple! Pairing it with my new look cut out shoulder top, high waisted jeans from Primark and little black boots.

Not to mention my staple monochrome bag from River Island added the final touch to my outfit. I wear this bag non-stop since I got it for Christmas from my older sis, thanks Katie! I am a huge fan of big River Island bags, as I sported this one last year! Sadly, it is no more so though, but I think  I like this one better!

I have swapped my love for heeled boots, for these flat beauties. This was another purchase during black Friday from the lovely New Look. I literally wear these boots all the time and can't go back to heeled boots. Anyway what do you think? Do you love tartan as much as me?
