FASHION| AMERICAN EAGLE OUTFITTERS #AEODENIM DIARIES

AMERICAN EAGLE OUTFITTERS HIGH WAISTED DARK SKINNY JEANS

So I admit it, I have been going a little instagram crazy! But that is because I was approached by American Eagle Outfitters (AEO) to be apart of their new denim campaign, #AEODENIMDIARIES. I had already worked with the brand, when I modelled their yellow jacket, as part of the Fashion bloggers tea party(post here). So I was super hyped, when they wanted to collaborate again!

The #AEODENIMDIARIES campaign, is a social campaign which focuses on individuality and personal style when it comes the classic staple item, jeans. Me and a few other influencers, were given a pair of AEO jeans to style up, and shoot in some of our favourite locations. AEO wanted to see who we were. So in addition, to sharing pretty pics of us in the jeans, we were asked questions like where we would wear our jeans, and how we would style them up.

I chose to shoot my pics at the British Museum, when chilling with new blogger pal, Anne-Sophie from City Cookie. I am an extrovert, so I like to do fun, outrageous and sometimes dangerous things, so that explains the jumping pic. The jeans are super soft, and high waisted which is imperative for my big bum and sensitive skin, usually a jump like that would've ended with embarrassment with typical tight jeans, but the fabric of the AEO jeans did not disappoint!AMERICAN EAGLE OUTFITTERS HIGH WAISTED DARK SKINNY JEANS

When I wear my jeans, I keep it simple but always fashionable. So I paired the jeans, with my H&M crop top, Primark necklace and Superdry leather jacket. I wanted to add extra edge, so I paired the jeans with my fave boots from River Island.AMERICAN EAGLE OUTFITTERS HIGH WAISTED DARK SKINNY JEANS

Not only was the #AEODENIMDIARIES a massive social campaign, but the brand was also hosting the Future of Fashion event at Westfield. This was a pretty sick event which allowed customers to experience the SS15 in a futuristic way! Think virtual reality glasses pretty cool stuff. As per usual, I am always busy, like always. But I did manage to get to Westfield White City to see the AEO pop up shop, and my pics on the video wall, which looked pretty great. AMERICAN EAGLE OUTFITTERS HIGH WAISTED DARK SKINNY JEANSRIVER ISLAND BLACK PATENT LACE UP BOOTS

If you didn't get a chance to see the Future of Fashion Event, or get a chance to visit the AEO pop-up, then no worries, as the event is moving to Westfield Stratford City on April 2nd-April 4th.

FASHION| HOUSE OF FRASER BLUE SUEDE ANKLE BOOTS

The 70s is a trend, I'd never thought I would embrace, but due to subliminal advertising I have slowly been converted  to this hot trend. My new blue suede boots, have made me love this trend even more! I have always been a sucker for chunky ankle boots, so when House of Fraser sent me these bad boys, I fell instantly in love.

The boots you see are actually from Dorothy Perkins, and I was actually surprised that House of Fraser stocked the brands shoes. I have always had a love for Dorothy Perkins shoes, as they are not only gorgeous but affordable and last ages! I quite liked that these boots weren't in the standard black colour, which means that it would add a pop to any outfit.

To complete my 70s Boho Chic outfit, I paired it with my Boohoo dress, trusty Primark necklace and completed the look with slick hair and a headband. Originally, when I planned my outfit, I was afraid that I was going to look like a smurf, but I think it turned out ok, what do you think?

FASHION| FASHION BLOGGERS TEA PARTY

Hey all, thought it was time to post another fashion related post on the blog. Can I just say a massive thank you to all of you being so kind about my previous post.It was super hard to write and I am glad, I finally came out and expressed my feelings.  On a more positive note, I have been a very busy lady as per usual. At the end of February, I was invited to the Fashion Bloggers tea party  event held by the lovely Lubka Christova of the blog - Blagarka.

Lubka invited us to an exclusive event, whereby 4 bloggers (Bec, Charlotte, Sam and me) would get the opportunity to be styled by exclusive brands, meet the designers behind the brands, but most importantly  we would  get our photos taken by a professional photographer. So off I trotted to Hackney Wick, to the very cool Number 90 bar for the event. I have to admit, I was kinda nervous to meet everyone, which is strange as I am a bubbly chick! But everyone was super lovely.

I was so inspired by the designers who came along. Mae from ChopShopLdn and Moji from Mojiana inspired me with their stories of how they got into the industry. They wowed me with their tenacity, creative thought processes behind their designs.. which gave me a greater appreciation for the pieces I would rock in my shoot. We were also supplied with outfits from American Eagle, which was a surprise to everyone.

I was given a sports luxe look, which admittedly is super different to what I usually wear. But you know what, I liked the simplicity and elegance of the outfit. I especially like the punch, my American Eagle jacket added to my outfit. Mojiana jewellery added the elegance, and ChopshopLdn slouchy joggers and vest top gave me a hip hop edge! I loved my outfit and the whole day. Thanks Lubka, I had a great time!

LIFESTYLE| IT IS OKAY TO BE UNHAPPY

I was really debating writing this post as I hate being branded a complainer.  I'm used to getting on with things, keeping my chin held up high and burying any of my issues behind. But the whole reason I started this blog was to have a place to voice my opinions, when I felt stifled in my real life.

JESS LOOK WHAT I GOT

So here goes, I'm unhappy. I’ve been unhappy for a couple of months now and it is because of a lot of different reasons. I’m very good at giving advice, but I HATE feeling vulnerable and I seldom talk about my issues.

As a result, tiny and big problems have been buried behind a sense of bravado and now I'm seeing the negative effects. I'd like to point out that I am not depressed. It is difficult to pin point the cause of my unhappiness. As I keep my feelings in. On the outside I look like the girl who has it all together. I have a good job, amazing friends and family and great opportunities. This is why I feel guilty about writing this as I know that other people have worse problems than me.

All I can say is that one source of my unhappiness stems from not doing what I want to do, due to a variety of reasons. The other one is having a lot of great opportunities, however I am overwhelmed by them and don't know what to do with it. I'm afraid of failure, somewhere deep down. I'm afraid of looking stupid, being useless and having no purpose. So I am overwhelmed and extremely stressed with the opportunities and tasks I've put onto myself. This is not healthy.  The other issues are just quite difficult to pinpoint as highlighted earlier.

EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE OKAY

So what is the point of this post? The point of this post is to highlight that it is okay to be unhappy. Happiness is not a constant! As humans we go through a plethora of emotions and it is important to treat each of them separately. We must embrace them and evaluate them. As that is the only way to grow.

I've embraced my unhappiness.  Not as a way to complain, moan and not take action. But it has highlighted that some difficult decisions need to be made very soon, in order to be happier and healthier.

Truth be told, I spent the last couple of weeks dealing with extreme stress. On one occasion at work, I had let my personal life drift into work and I spent one Friday crying, a total of 3 times in the work toilets. I couldn't concentrate, my chest was tight and I was frustrated. So I went home. This is not me at all. I felt weak... and I am a strong girl. I never want to feel that helpless again. I need to simplify my life and take it easy on myself. Once I do that I can think clearly.

I guess the first step was telling you lot my feelings. It is foreign to me I tell ya. I'm trying to be better with it, really I am. As life is too short,  to always think about my pride. I don’t want to feel emotionally suffocated.  So I guess speaking out is the first step....

Have you ever felt really unhappy?  What did you do to change your situation?
