FASHION | FLOWER CHILD GRAPHIC T-SHIRT BY EPHRAIM YEBOAH

I would describe my style as feminine with a bit of edge. I like to play around with silhouettes, patterns and colour as my style is an extension of my personality. I love graphic tees, but I own so many from the high street that they become samey! Recently, I have been on the hunt for unique pieces and when I was contacted by the lovely Ephraim to style one of his t's, I jumped at the chance.

Elegance and edge are the key words I used to describe this top! I love it so much and have been wearing it non-stop. Paired with my trusty black skater skirt from Primark and finished off with my trusty ASOS gold boots, finishes the look well.

The vibrancy of the colours, coupled with the simple, yet effective designs make this top a stand out for me. It was really cold when I did this shoot, but I just couldn't bear to cover this t-shirt with a jacket. I suffered with a cold afterwards, but it was worth it! What do you think of graphic t-shirts and how would you style this up?

LIFESTYLE| LOOK WHAT I GOT! IS 4 YEARS OLD

Greetings all! Are you having a great day? I sure am, I have done a little bit of shopping, bought some make up and am chilling catching up to the latest episode of The Originals. Now as always, I tend to go a little bit off tangent, but the reason I am writing this post, is to celebrate Look What I Got's 4th birthday!

Yeah that is right, I have been officially been blogging for 4 years! I am more surprised than anyone. I have never been the one to take on a hobby, longer than a couple of months, let alone years. So as I reflect on my tenacity, I can think of the only reason as to why I have kept on with LWIG is because of the freedom it gave me. Freedom you may ask? Yes, back in mid 2010, I can honestly say I was quite frustrated. I was at University, doing what I was "supposed to do".  Second year was vastly different from 1st year. I had moved home, was  travelling to  Uni each day.  It was  a mission for only 6 hours a week! I would barley listen to my dry marketing lectures, and then I would go home. I was frustrated, annoyed and I felt lost. I had always been a creative creature and spending most of my days with someone talking at me, about stuff I didn't care about, made me yearn for something more!

So in order to quench my creative thirst, I went back to my love of fashion, and I found a way back to this via blogs. I would read them everyday, getting style inspiration, learning make up tricks and most importantly learning about the lives of people around the globe. It was soon after, that I realised that this was the way to get a voice and showcase what I love and connect with people. So in February 2011, in pure naiveity LWIG was born.

As I blogged, I felt free, I felt happy and through this, opportunities started pouring in. Now I didn't blog for the freebies, the exclusive events or the other perks. I blog and continue to blog, because when ever I feel scared, confused or alone; blogging is a way I can express myself, without feeling ridiculed. It is my therapy and I am so happy that you guys have been with me over these last 4 years. I can't tell you how much I have learnt and developed from blogging. If it wasn't for blogging, I do not think I would have the confidence to go against the staus quo and try something different. It has made me appreciate myself, believe in myself and encourage others to do so too through vast different ways such as through FBL Bloggers.

I honestly do not know what I would do without my blog. Recently, I have had a lot of personal changes happen in my life, which has made me reflect on what I truly want. I was scared before, but eventually, I would like to take my blog further and go full time as a blogger. I don't know when I will do it, but that is the ultimate plan. It will be scary and challenging, but I think with everything that is happening in my life, it makes sense. I just want to be happier, and this makes me happy. 2014 was a little bit difficult at times for me! But I learnt that I need to go for my dreams, and I am going to do that.. one step at a time. So all I can say is thank you for being on this journey with me.

FASHION | MONOCHROME FEVER! FEATURING NEW LOOK,SELECT FASHION,PRIMARK AND RIVER ISLAND

A couple of Sundays ago, me and Jodie headed down to Central London to meet Fashion Worked as we were both being interviewed for his Q& Eats series. Before we were grilled by the lovely Fashion Worked, we thought we would make the most of our trip into Central and take some outfit pictures.

Recently, I have been trying to up my outfit game. Jodie will know, that I am on the mission to be a little more chic, so hence why I have been rocking my trilby and button downs as of late. I have also got a thing for monochrome, as you all will know! Which is why I love my tartan coat from New Look, as well as my beloved monochrome bag from River Island! I deffo think heels would've finished my look off well, but tbh with you, I really couldn't be bothered to run around London in heels, just for fashion. I like to look good, but comfort is a priority!

BEAUTY| A LA CARTE LONDON IN KNIGHTSBRIDGE

Last week, I was contacted by the lovely team at A la carte London for a personal make up session. As a self confessed make-up lover, I jumped at the chance as I was really intrigued by the brand, and it is always fun to experience something new.

A la carte cosmetics is a bespoke brand  based in Knightsbridge.  Founded in 1973 by two cosmetic chemists, Lynne and Christina, who were determined to expand the range of colours and choice, that was not offered by the big cosmetic brands.  With their  new innovative products; they wanted to give women the chance to try products, in private. Before ultimately making the leap to purchase

As a woman of colour, I am constantly frustrated by the lack of choice offered by big brands, so it was great to see that a brand was out their to help with my make up woes. As soon as I arrived at the quaint store, I was greeted by the lovely staff as well as the abundant range from the brand.  My make up artist Stephanie, was at hand to do my make up. She was lovely and really took the time to talk me through the products and give me tips.

A la carte cosmetics  are known for their ‘Bespoke Your Beauty’ service. This service allows customers to create their own foundation, lipstick, gloss, powder and shadow! I got to experience this service as I had my own foundation mixed to suit my skintone, and skin type. The good thing about this service is that if you run out , the store keeps a record of your personal foundation so you can always get a new bottle. How good is that?

I went for a subtle day time look with a brown smokey eye and bold lip. This look isn't dissimilar to what I normally do. However, this look was neater, more defined and most importantly natural looking. The foundation looked amazing, and it didn't feel heavy or cakey. I will have to play around with for a couple of weeks, but I am pretty sure I will re-purchase again.

I'd like to thank everyone at A la carte cosmetics for allowing me to try out their products. I was also gifted with a goody-bag of make up (which will be reviewed separately).

Have you ever heard of A la carte cosmetics?
