As January draws to a close, we are slowly getting close to Valentine's Day. I can almost feel the love in the air! Cheesy that maybe, but I am a romantic at heart. As a romantic, I know how important it is to get that perfect gift, for the season of love. So, what better gift than lingerie. It is a classic gift that never fails to add a smile to a woman's face.

A brand that I really admire for their gorgeous range of lingerie is Affinitas intimates. I wrote about my admiration of the brand, last year and even had a  giveaway featuring, the Charlotte padded bra by parfait. For all my newbie readers, parfait is a lingerie brand that is apart of Affinitas intimates. The parfait line, is for us girls with fuller busts and the sizes range form 30D-40G. With the undies ranging from xs-2x.

I was gifted with the Lola, half padded bra and Brazilian thong. Lola is apart of the new SS14 line for Parfait. The parfait SS14 collection is inspired by early beginnings of spring and innocent romance. This is reflected in the colour palette of the collection with ivory, blush pinks and nudes being prevalent in the collection. The Lola bra that I was given, is in blush pink also comes in white and black. What I like about the piece is the black lace detailing, which learly marries sultry mood of the lingerie with a touch of innocence. The pinstripe detailing is very pretty and adds interest to the piece.

I am very impressed with the SS14 parfait collection. to the classic reds and blacks usually associated with valentines lingerie!

Hi my name is Jessica and I am an instagram addict! It's true, I wake up every morning and check my insta feed like it is the daily newspaper. Perfect for the inner photographer in me, bad as I rarely keep up to date on current events. Anway, I digress. After checking my instafeed, I came across my fellow FBL admin Natalie, from Discoveries of Self feed. I was immediately, taken aback from the lovely make up from Eloy Guerra, who created the "Red she said" look on America's Next Top model alumni, Eugena Washington. Being a make up enthusiast, I suggested to Natalie, that we do our own take on it.

Here is my final look, bear in mind it was inspired and it isn't going to be exactly the same. I agree with Natalie, that although it looked fairly simple it was harder than it looked. I struggled with the lips, which were in fact darker in real life, but due to filters you can't really see it. Ah well, I gave it a go. What do you think? Do you dare to take the challenge?

Get a cuppa cause this is gonna be a long post. Now, it may be late for me to write my resolutions and to reflect on my 2013, but whateves I am doing it now. In general, 2013 was an interesting year. It was the year, where I can truly say that I am on the road to "finding myself". I'm not saying that I know all the answers and can give you a detailed 5 year plan of my life, but I have learnt to trust my instincts and follow my heart.

So where do I start? So much has happened! I think the best would be to review my 2013 goals, I made back in January 2013.

1.I am happy to say that I achieved my goal of having a sick final year at University, but I didn't graduate with a 1st but a strong 2.1. University was hard, but I grew up so much and met my best friends during my 4 years, and for that I am happy to have had such a great experience. You can read more about this goal here and here.

2.Unfortunately, 2013 wasn't the year I would pass my driving test. I was pissed off tbh, as I explained here. But after some reflection, I am determined to save some money to do an intensive course to pass for the 4th time.... pray for me.

3.I didn't really get the time to do D.I.Y's. I managed the occasional nail art designs but tbh I was so busy and stifled creatively, that I couldn't bring myself to do d.i.y's.
Now there were plans to go on holiday and plan my epic travelling adventures, but money and other issues meant I had to put them in hold. Hopefully, I can go on holiday this year! Here is hoping Ghana in December will happen.

4.I did save this year, but not every week. However, it was a decent amount, but I want to make it more consistent so I have started the 52 week money saving challenge, which I shared on instagram. Currently, I have successfully completed 2 weeks, I'll keep you updated on that.
5.I made an effort to take care of myself physically and emotionally. I was eating healthier, took up dance class at uni, briefly. But most importantly, I made a promise to myself to open up more and not keep things in. I am the type of person who doesn't like to fuss, I get on with things, I persevere and put others before myself, sometimes to the detriment of myself. I often felt that opening up and showing my vulnerabilities was a weakness, but in reality I was hurting myself. So 2013, saw me, as I eloquently like to put it..not to really give a fuck, about what people thought about me. I would say when I was unhappy and do the best for me.
6. I'll just say that the room is still pending. Next mission is to build my new bed.

7.I went to Central alot, mainly due to events (the perks of blogging). Saw I went to alot of beautiful venues in London.

8.Back in mid 2013, I saw a deal on groupon for a day jewellery course to make a shamballa bracelet and earrings. I was happy to do this course because I wanted to see if making jewellery was really for me. Even though it was fun, I decided that it was cool, but i do not want to make jewellery or sell it any time soon.

9.This goal may need it's own post to itself. In a nutshell, I decided I wanted to focus on social media marketing and either work for a B2C brand or agency. I'll explain the job hunt after uni in another post.

So that is my 2013. Above are my 2014 goals, which are much more achievable and simple than 2013. Let's hope I smash them. How was your 2014 and do you have any goals for this year?

CLARKS| ANKLE BOOTS REVIEW

 photo 2013GOALREVIEW_zpsd4510d34.jpg
 photo clarksankleboots2_zpse411ba01.jpg

So I guess this is my official post of 2014. Usually, a new year results in a resolution post, not to worry this is coming soon, so sit tight. Just before Christmas, the lovely guys over at Clarks gifted me with £60 vouchers to review shoes from their range. I was very chuffed by this. The opportunity came at the right time, as if you've seen on my Facebook page and instagram, you've seen that my beloved studded boots are no-more. On the hunt for the perfect boots, I found the Katelina Bay Boots, which came to £69.99. Sadly, the boots are not on the website any more, but I found them here and a cute alternatives are the Kendra boots.

In general, I love the look of the boots. They are are very versatile, and can be dressed up or down. What really attracted me to the boots were the subtle details. I am a huge fan of suede and zips, so these key details were key factors for me purchasing them. I am not the best in heels, so I was glad that these boots are 3 inches and have a platform. They are incredibly comfortable and I have so much love for these boots. I will be rocking these boots on a night out soon. I may need to invest in a suede protection spray, for the unpredictable British weather but it should be fine. So what do you think of my boots yay or nay?
